Dato’ Sebastian Ting New Year message

On behalf of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party I would like to wish you all a Very Happy, Prosperous, Peaceful and Successful New Year 2017.

I would also take this opportunity to thank the people of Sarawak who voted for our BN/SUPP candidates during the recent Sarawak Election PRN 11 2016 held on the 7th May 2016.

Our 7 Elected State Assemblymen will try our very best to fulfill all the promises pledged during the said election. Do give me some time for us to carry out our pledges. Thank you.

We are blesssed and extremely fortunate to live in a peaceful country where everyone lives in peace and in harmony. In addition we need to live in a healthy lifestyle, with good health and a healthy mind. That way, we can strive to do our best in life and to contribute and provide assistance to those around us who may need help.

Malaysia is a multi-racial, multi cultural and multi religion country.. In Sarawak we have 30 different ethnic groups and we are indeed proud and feel Blessed that we, Sarawakians can live in peace and harmony with total respect and love for one another. We should also be proud that Sarawak is the beacon of light for the whole Malaysia for peace and harmony among multi-racial and religions.

It is most unfortunate that it becomes necessary to remind all of us that there are politicians from outside Sarawak who utter words that do not promote peace and harmony but rather to destroy our harmonious environment. This is wrong and irresponsible and we must not let this group destroy us. We must therefore need to be careful and protect our peaceful environment.

For the year 2017 with the ringgit depreciation and uncertainty in the oil and gas industry, the days ahead will be challenging. But with our good relationship with China, we hope there will be opportunities for Malaysians to venture new horizons.
