Engkilili branch – leave us alone…
Supporters and party members of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) strongly opposed to let the Engkilili constituency being courted by other component parties of Barisan Nasional (BN).
SUPP Engkilili’s branch had launched a signature campaign recently which the memorandum was handed over to SUPP chairman Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian today as to express their determination in safeguarding Engkilili seat in the state.
They had stated in the memorandum that they disagreed YB Johnical Rayong to join Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) after his winning, as the seat originally belong to SUPP.
“We absolutely disagree to let Engkilili seats being merged with PBB although we understand that we have no rights to stop Rayong in joining PBB.”
Engkilili branch warned BN component parties to have mutual spirit of respect and cooperation instead of destruction. Thus, the party branch urged state BN to have rational consideration regarding existing regime in order to ensure the political stabilization in Sarawak.
