Wilfred Yap officiates “Healthy Mind Charity Run 4.0”
Wilfred Yap, Kota Sentosa State Assemblyman today officiated the “Healthy Mind Charity Run 4.0” organised by the Sentosa Hospital Psychiatric Welfare Body in collaboration with the Sarawak Medical Services Union (SMSU), an annual initiative to promote mental health awareness and encourage community participation in wellness activities. In his officiating remarks, Yap commended Hospital Sentosa and SMSU for their tireless efforts in championing mental health advocacy, early intervention and public education. World Diabetes Day: One in Six Sarawakians Now Diabetic, Says Dr Sim
Sarawakians are being urged to take diabetes more seriously as the number of cases continues to rise, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian. 沈桂贤呼吁砂人民正视糖尿病问题
砂副总理兼公共卫生、房屋及地方政府部长拿督阿玛沈桂贤教授呼吁砂拉越人民正视日益严重的糖尿病问题,以便在享受砂拉越发展的同时,也能保持健康与良好生活品质。 他说,砂拉越的糖尿病患病率近年来大幅攀升,如今已达到每6名砂拉越人中便有1人患病,足以显示问题的严重性,亟需尽早处理。 “在上世纪70年代末至2000年代初,我们的糖尿病率只有约4%。如今已上升至15%,也就是每6人就有1人患病;更令人担忧的是砂拉越土著群体的患病率已达17.2%。” 他指出,许多人并不知道自己患有糖尿病,而一旦病情未受控制,可能导致中风、心脏病发作、肾衰竭需洗肾,甚至截肢等严重并发症,因此糖尿病被视为“影响全身的疾病”。 沈桂贤今日在古晋河滨公园举行的2025年世界糖尿病日庆典上致词时强调,只要及早发现并妥善管理,这些并发症是可以避免的。 他也指出,亚洲社会普遍饮食习惯以高碳水化合物及高糖饮料为主,使糖尿病风险进一步增加。日常饮食模式对整体健康有着关键影响,因此必须提高警觉。 他强调,预防远比依赖医疗设施更为重要。“如果缺乏自律与健康管理意识,即使再多医院与医生,也难以承担日益增加的疾病负担。” 为配合世界糖尿病日,“变蓝行动”(Turning Blue)亮灯活动在达鲁哈拿大桥举行,大桥当晚以蓝色灯光点亮,象征全球对糖尿病课题的关注与团结。
