砂拉越人民联合党将于6月4日（星期四）迎来第56届党庆。 一项升旗礼将会在上午7时于人联党总部举行，所有党中央常务领袖将会从7时开始抵达现场。 砂拉越人民联合党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员将在主持升旗仪式后，发表致词。

美里东盟大桥取消收费
砂拉越人民联合党中央秘书长拿督陈超耀律师对于首长拿督巴丁宜丹斯里阿迪南沙登宣布取消大马注册车牌使用东盟大桥收费表示赞许。 该大桥是从6月1日开始正式取消向大马注册车牌的车辆收费。 陈超耀说，这证明了阿迪南沙登是个说到做到的领袖。
Toll free at ASEAN bridge
Dato’ Sebastian Ting rejoiced with his SUPP members at the Asean bridge as Malaysian-registered cars passed through the bridge without having to pay toll charges starting today, 1st of June. Ting said as promised, the Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Adenan Satem, had also waived the toll fees in Miri and Sibu.

Dr Sim awarded the MMA Meritorious Service Award
Dr Sim is honoured to be awarded the MMA Meritorious Service Award at the 55th Malaysia Medical Association AGM on 30 May. The award was presented by YTM Dr Tengku Muhammad Fa-IZ Petra Ibni Sultan Ismail Petra, the Tengku Mahkota of Kelantan. Dr Donald Liew, the Consultant Neurosurgeon from the Sarawak General Hospital, is the other Sarawakian receiving the long service award.
强奸罪刑法第375条的定义必须修改
人联党中央妇女组顾问郑莉薲表示， 针对诗巫六旬退休公务员4度性侵女同事的15岁未成年养女并怀孕产子，原被判监禁15年、鞭笞11下及赔偿4万令吉， 但辩护律师指上诉人以沾有精液的手指插入受害者私处，并非以生殖器官进行性交，不符合强奸定义，三司一致决定对方上诉得直，上诉人当庭获得无罪释放的结果， 再在揭露了法律中对「强暴」定义的狭隘，以及司法对性侵犯／暴力的处置的怠慢表示极度不满并对此结果即将造成未来的社会秩序紊乱而忧心忡忡。 “我们需要确保所有的性犯罪被全面的制裁” 她补充说， 现阶段的强暴仅被定义为「以阳具插入阴道」式的性交， 然而现实中的性侵犯往往结合「性」与「暴力」的摧残，不少受暴者曾遭遇被其他物件侵入身体的暴力伤害，且伤害（包括身体、精神与心理）程度不比「阳具插入阴道」来得低，甚至更为严重。 依据刑法第375条（F），无论当事者是否同意，只要是16岁以下皆为法定强奸罪。那为什么控方不以此条款将其入罪呢？控方理应权衡各种可能性，确保证据确凿且没有疑点，谨慎做出控状。无论如何，即便日后再重申，涉案者都得再次面对审讯压力或心理伤害。所以，提供一个完善且友善的机制和制度予受暴者是必要的， 而修改强奸罪刑法第375条的定义以确保儿童和妇女的权益和安全是当前迫切的。 对于近期西马一个非政府组织即将在6月7日下午4点， 身穿橙色恤衫集中于吉隆坡崇光百货购物中心， 进行民众步行和平请愿的运动深表赞许。 郑莉薲呼吁砂州各地的妇女组织和团体都可以一起发动并响应这项活动。让更多民众了解并争取自身的安全和权益， 儿童保护法令可以严格和全面的被执行。
SUPP Central Women Section on rape
The definition of RAPE in Section 375 of the Penal Code needs to be reviewed. SUPP Central Women Section Advisor Amy Tnay says, that acquittal of the 60-year old Bunya Jalong from his sexual offences against a 15-year old girl in Sibu has revealed a disappointing fact, that the judicial definition of “RAPE” still works in a narrow groove. Not only that, she is also utterly upset with the judicial system’s lack of efficiency in handling cases related to sexual offence, where such outcome will bring nothing but social chaos.Read More
Federal government grants for Chinese schools
SUPP President, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian gave away Federal government grants to 28 SJK Chinese Primary schools (central zones Sarawak), 8 SJK Chinese Schools on Northern Zone of Sarawak and 13 SJK Chinese Schools Southern Zone Sarawak recently. The grant was distributed for the school maintenance and student activities. In Sibu, Chairman of SUPP Bukit Asset, Chieng Boon Toon was with Dr Sim to help distributed the grant while in Miri, Piasau Chairman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting was also at the ceremony.

砂拉越人民联合党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员于日前移交教育部拨款予北砂8间受惠华小。 出席仪式者包括中央秘书长拿督陈超耀律师及助理部长兼史纳汀区州议员拿督李景胜。这项教育拨款是首相拿督斯里纳吉于2011年宣布拨出。
沈桂贤移交教育部拨款予南砂13间华小
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员提醒获得教育部拨款的学校，必须每个月提呈开支报告，以供教育部进行稽查。 他指出，受惠的学校董事部必须确保每月的进展报告依时呈交予教育部，如果无按时提呈相关报告，会影响紧接下来的申请拨款的手续。 南砂获得教育部拨款的学校包括短廊中华小学、古晋中华小学第一校、古晋中华小学第三校、味源港中华小学、尖山中华小学、金珠盛中华小学、上湾头中华小学、四哩半中华公学、新山肚中华小学、板督中华公学、英吉利里中华小学、铭新中华小学、甲望中华小学，总额高达38万令吉。 他也提醒获得拨款的学校，尽快把支票存入银行，然后每月必须把维修或是提升设施的进展完整报告提呈予教育部。 他也促请教育部能继续关注砂州华小的需求，毕竟长期以来，华小校董会与联邦教育部的关系融洽。
SPCB helping out Everbright Park residents
The SUPP Public Complaints Bureau was recently approached residents of Everbright Park, 3rd Mile, Penrissen Road, Kuching, who complained of motor vehicles speeding on the road in their housing estate. As such, they had requested for two road bumps to be constructed to slow down traffic, a “Stop” traffic sign, and for the road signs in their housing estate to be repainted.
