SPCB helping out Everbright Park residents
The SUPP Public Complaints Bureau was recently approached residents of Everbright Park, 3rd Mile, Penrissen Road, Kuching, who complained of motor vehicles speeding on the road in their housing estate.
As such, they had requested for two road bumps to be constructed to slow down traffic, a “Stop” traffic sign, and for the road signs in their housing estate to be repainted.
Following the complaint, officials of the Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) immediately went to inspect and assess the situation and also to see what can be done to resolve the problem.
The problem was subsequently solved by the MPP maintenance division who have constructed two road bumps, put up a “Stop” sign and repainted the road signs in the housing estate.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief Wilfred Yap also requested the relevant officers to ensure that in future, council staff shall increase the frequency of inspection of all council roads in the MPP area and ensure that these roads are in good condition and maintained properly for the benefit of the public.
