President of SUPP, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian was with the Bintawa Community Association during the scholarship ceremony recently.
He said in Sarawak with so many NGO, Yayasans, GLC’s scholarship, there is no excuse that parents cannot afford to send their children to go to schools.
He said his wish is for every Sarawakian to do well in the era of Knowledge. Economic is not just locally at home but globally, yet Sarawak is your home.
Investment in education is like teaching people how to fish rather than just given fish. Many of the Chinese Schools in Sarawak has substantial numbers of bumi students. Let’s take the lead by example of contributing to racial harmony by having the Chinese NGO sharing out scholarship to our bumi students in the Chinese schools.
Lets Sarawak takes the lead and show Malaya how to prevent racial polarisation. There is no place for extremists in Sarawak. YAB Tan Sri Adenan Satem had promised that all the extremists from Malaya (irrespective of the political parties) will not be welcomed to Sarawak.
