Dr. Sim Explains

Secretary General of SUPP, Dr. Sim Kui Hian explained to the SUPP leaders and members this afternoon that the party SUPP is not de-registered as rumoured.
Speaking to reporters before a dialogue session with five SUPP branches in Kuching, Dr. Sim said there has been a lot of confusion since two branches, Bekenu and Piasau were de-registered and he wanted to get the fact straight to the party members that SUPP is not de-registered.
The participants involved 20 committee members from each Pending, Batu Kawa, Sentosa, Batu Lintang and Kuching branches.
He said the two branches were given 30 days to reply to the de-registration and the legal team with party leaders had been working hard the last one week to give a reply.
“We were assured that there is a good legal case to reply. Of cause, there will be a political reply as well. All party members are to remain calm and united. The Party President and I together with the other leaders are determined to resolve this issue soonest possible,” he said.

In 2012, there were 14 complaints made against the branches with the Registrar of Society. Two were asked to show cause in June last year and the reply date was on January 6 this year which the party received on the 8th.
“DAP was also given “show cause” and we hope ROS will follow precedence with no “double standards”.
On another issues, Dr. Sim said there were a lot of advice made through the media on how the two warring factions can communicate, one led by present President, Tan Sri Peter Chin and another by Dato’ Sri Wong Soon Koh, a full Minister and the Chairman of SUPP Sibu.
“Some good advice, some sincere advise, some professional advise but there were also a lot of misleading advise, insincere advise or bad advise, etc……. My door is always open to anyone who wants to meet me and if they wants to offer any advice, come to me. I am always available and ready to listen. I want to know why the advice were given through the media. Is it for the party members, or the people? There are also people who claimed to be impartial but at their convenience, they forgot,” he said.
Dr. Sim said communication through the newspaper should be stopped as the people and the voters are sick of SUPP internal quarrels. He called to party leaders who were elected to positions to continue serving the community and fight for the people in Sarawak as what they had done the past 54 years.
“Just stay calm and there is no need to get emotional, all for the party’s sake,” he added.
On another note, Dr. Sim said he is ready to step down if there were people who want him to resign. I am not the type to hunger for position, he added.
