SUPP and SPDP joint press statement
The SUPP and SPDP have declared that they shall defend all the state seats presently allocated to them in the next State General Elections.
In a joint statement issued by SUPP President, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, and the SPDP President Datuk Sri Tiong King Sing stressed that the two parties shall never compromise on the rights to contest all the seats currently allocated to them.
The statement added that, any members who were not happy with the party concerned, have the right to make their own choices. But they have no right to take along the seats they won under the name of SUPP or SPDP.
Dr. Sim Kui Hian stressed that SUPP shall defend all the 19 state seats allocated to the party. The candidates to stand in these 19 seats shall be nominated by SUPP.
He pointed out that, in accordance with the operation guidelines of the BN, candidates of all the seats are to be nominated by the component parties . They were to be recommended by the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Haji Adenan Satem, who is the State BN Chairman to the Prime Minister who is the National BN Chairman for approval.
Sarawak BN has currently four component parties, namely PBB, SUPP, SPDP and PRS.
Datuk Sri Tiong King Sing stated that SPDP will never give a seat to any non-BN component party or a non SPDP leader.
