DAP’s Endless Excuses Show They Have Run Out of Ideas and Credibility

Kota Sentosa State Assemblyman, Wilfred Yap said it is becoming painfully clear that DAP prefers issuing press statements over taking responsibility.

He noticed that the recent fiasco over matriculation entry for SPM students with A– grades is just the latest example of their half-hearted and reactive approach to governance, despite holding an unprecedented number of positions in the Federal Government.

“DAP has five Cabinet Ministers, six Deputy Ministers including the Deputy Minister of Education and over forty Members of Parliament. Yet it took massive public outcry, sustained criticism, and a Cabinet reversal to finally reinstate fairness for deserving students. If DAP cannot even prevent such confusion and distress over something as basic as admission criteria, what exactly are they doing in Putrajaya? How many more statements will they issue to distract from the fact that they have failed to lead decisively from the start?” he asked.

This government, he said, was elected to solve problems, not to hide behind theatrics and empty rhetoric and the public is tired of excuses.” DAP leaders must stop playing the victim when they are part of the ruling coalition with the power to implement real solutions proactively, not only after being pressured into u-turns. If after all these years and all these positions they still resort to finger-pointing and delayed action, it simply proves they have run out of ideas and credibility”, he added.

If DAP cannot deliver fair opportunities for our best and brightest students without first creating confusion, he said the thinking public should have no illusions left. It is time to look elsewhere for leadership that does not just talk but gets things done right the first time.

As your elected representative, Yap assured that he will continue to fight for what is fair and just for all communities, and I will always call a spade a spade and no matter how uncomfortable that may be for those in power.

For the sake of our students and the credibility of government, he urged DAP to stop relying on after-the-fact damage control and start demonstrating the competence they promised. If DAP continues to fail to deliver consistent and credible leadership, it is time for Malaysians to look elsewhere for leaders who will genuinely ensure their voices are heard and their aspirations respected.
