Deputy Tourism Minister, Datuk Sebastian Ting attends Routes Asia

Sarawak’s Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, attended Routes Asia 2025 from March 25 to 27 at Perth Convention Centre and Exhibition that serves as a key platform for discussions on aviation and tourism development.

He was accompanied by a delegation of 11 representatives from the Ministry of Tourism.

During the convention, Ting held meetings at the Sarawak Tourism Board’s booth with various aviation industry stakeholders, including Tourism Malaysia’s Puan Baizuri Baharam, Routes Asia Organizer Ms. Judy, representatives from Xiamen Airlines, and VietJet Airlines.

These meetings provided an opportunity for the Ministry to understand airline regulations and enforcement processes in different countries. The insights gained will help the Ministry explore ways to create market demand for these airlines to operate in Sarawak. Additionally, the Sarawak Tourism Board presented a PowerPoint showcasing some of the state’s iconic tourism products to boost confidence among airline operators.

Among those attending the meetings were Dr. Victor Luna Amin, representing the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Mdm Audry Wan Ulok, President of the Sarawak Tourism Federation, En Maurice Balang, representing the Sarawak Tourism Board, along with other esteemed delegates.

Prior to the exhibition, on the evening of March 24, the Honourable Datuk Sebastian Ting and his delegation attended a welcoming dinner at King Frasier Park. The event provided an opportunity for delegates to network and enjoy each other’s company before the convention officially began.
