More Evacuees Returning home
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian expressed relief that more flood relief centres are closing down in Sarawak.
He called on everyone to play their role and do their part by stepping forward for the massive cleanup, rebuilding whatever has been damaged, and helping the evacuees return to a “normal” life.
Dr Sim also urged the public to donate generously to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) so that funds can be properly channeled and accounted for in various repair and rebuilding initiatives.
Thanking the Federal and Sarawak government agencies, volunteers, and NGOs for their continued efforts in assisting victims in relief centres, he said it is heartening that Sarawakians are generous in coming forward to help in times of tragedy.
