Datuk Sebastian Ting handing remains funds for baby girl cochlear implant
Deputy Minister of Tourism of Sarawak and Chairman of the Miri Cochlear Implant Association, Datuk Tan Chao Yao, handed over the remaining fund-raising balance to Rhea Moh’s father, Moh Ngeng Chong, and mother, Janet Teng, at the SUPP Piasau branch.
Ting said at the meeting that the cost of cochlear implants that Moh Ningxuan urgently needed was 125,000 ringgits. The parents raised 70,000 ringgits on their own, and the remaining 55,000 ringgits were raised from the public until they stopped raising 87,759.60 ringgits.
“The above-mentioned amount of RM55,000 is for cochlear implant equipment expenses, and the remaining RM32,759.60 is for subsequent medical expenses, including travel to Kuching for follow-up expenses, he said.”
Ting said pointed out Rhea will undergo a cochlear implant surgery at a local medical center on the 22nd of this month, and under the arrangement of the Miri Cochlear Implant Association.
According to him, kind-hearted people from all over Sarawak, including Miri, Kuching and other areas, learned about the case of the baby girl through newspapers and social media and the public enthusiastically extended a helping hand to provide support, showing the love and care of the society.
