MPP Chairman, Tan Kai says Haji Baki recreational park maintained
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) would like to refute the accusation made by Michael Kong, Special Assistant to YB Chong Chieng Jen, MP for Stampin, regarding the Council neglecting Kampung Haji Baki Recreation Park.
MPP Chairman, Cr. Tan Kai, emphasized that MPP has regularly undertaken maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, for the parks under its jurisdiction, including Kampung Haji Baki Recreation Park. Otherwise, the grass would have been tall and untidy, contrary to what is shown in the photos by Michael Kong. Other maintenance tasks include weeding, tree trimming, and replacement of faulty lighting when needed.
He revealed that as Kampung Haji Baki Recreation Park will be affected by the road upgrading project in future. As such, MPP has no immediate plans to replace the dilapidated children’s playground equipment, as alternative recreational facilities will be considered after completion of project.
Nonetheless, MPP will coordinate with the local community of Kampung Haji Baki for maintenance and to arrange for the removal of the deteriorated children’s playground equipment.
The Council has consistently and will continue to maintain all parks within its jurisdiction, including Kampung Haji Baki Recreation Park.
