MySejahtera system not updated, says Sih Hua Tong
SUPP Deputy Secretary General, Sih Hua Tong said there are more reported cases whereby some Sarawakians who have completed with two doses of Covid-19 vaccination, do not receive their digital certificates. Some claimed to have waited for two months and apparently, there were no news yet.
“They seek assistance to get rectification on the digital certificate issue and did multiple attempts via helpdesk, called up hotline, went to vaccination centres and tried other means, they were all to no avail. Some who encountered these complications were unable to get them rectified even after two months. We urge the federal agencies in granting MySJ (MySejahtera) system access to identified Sarawak agencies in assisting local Sarawakians, and also those who took their jabs in Sarawak, who encountered various problems or complications, and get those problems rectified,” he said.
Sih pointed out that there are cases whereby those who were vaccinated and do not get their digital certificate (e.g., No digital certificate, or digital certificate only showing a single dos vaccinated). There were also cases where the information registered on the digital certificate did not tally with the actual vaccination information. These include: wrong date(s), wrong IC number, wrong vaccine type. Even those who have the IC numbers wrongly keyed-in were not able to get them amended at the profile page of MySJ.
To some, he said who encountered such issues or complications also have their livelihood affected. Some employers who plan to hire these prospect employees require them to show their digital certificate prior to employment. There were others who were prohibited from entering certain offices, shopping malls, outlets, café or restaurant in carrying out their daily chores.
“All these are causing a lot of inconveniences and stress to those affected. These rectifications are simple issues to get resolved so long as MySJ system access is granted to pre-identified Sarawak agencies. It is pretty unfriendly if the system keeps making those who were affected to run from one area to another just for the sake of getting the vaccination records right. We must appreciate the good efforts of those in wanting to help the country in maintaining an accurate vaccination database, and this is of paramount importance for the country as nobody could predict for sure the future development of the disease. We hope that the relevant federal agencies would act fast on this issue”, he added.
