Kho said not this is not the right time for debate
SUPP Woman Chief, Kho Teck Wan wonders why Dato Seri Wong Soon Koh is challenging SUPP Party president over the amendment Bill.
She said as the Minister of Local government and Housing, as well as the member of Sarawak Disaster Management Committee, SUPP party president is doing double duty.
“It is not in the interest of rakyat to be focusing their energy on debate over an already hotly debated and passed bill, when we are fighting the pandemic. After all, the debating should and had happened in the Dewan Undangan Negeri,” she said.
Kho reckoned that if Wong had any doubt about the amendment bill, he can consult the state attorney general or his fellow comrades in PSB and DAP.
She said studies had shown that the worst of the pandemic in Malaysia is yet to come with Kuching still in the red zone.
As economy is greatly affected by the pandemic, people are losing jobs, lower income and some have no job at all. Thus, she added, it is important for all politicians to be united to fight the pandemic.
