Local government Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim issue letter letters against defamatory statement

Local Government Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian has instructed his lawyers to issue legal letters to refuted the recent defamatory statements made by  several DAP leaders in the papers including the ones by its Sarawak Chairman Chong Chieng Jen.

Dr. Sim who is also the President of SUPP said he was accused  for wrongfully taking control of food assistance funds allocated for Padungan, Batu Lintang, Pending and Kota Sentosa in a total sum of RM800,000.

Dr Sim explained that despite that it is an indisputable fact that all those food assistance funding’s were allocated by the Sarawak Government to all Divisional Disaster Management Committees (DDMC) throughout Sarawak, and not to any ADUNs’ service centres, DAP leaders knowingly continued to make such false accusations and repeated the same against me through both social media and the local daily with malice or malicious intent to disparage my character and untruthfully accused me to have abused my position by misappropriating and misusing those funds.

“I have said earlier on several occasions that in view of the intensity of battling the covid-19 pandemic at our own doorsteps, our top priority has to be focusing on beating the crisis by ensuring all our fellow Sarawakians that our home can one day be safe like before, free from the disease. As such, our healthcare and enforcement front liners have to risk their lives every day to achieve the above goal. There is simply no room for any such untruthful politicking or any false accusations. The writers have gone overboard with their persistent, repeated and malicious attacks without basis and without verifying the facts beforehand.
