Drains & upgrading projects in Batu Kawa

18 drainage cleaning and upgrading projects has been completed in this year, it has since improved and resolved Batu Kawah area’s inundation issue during downpour, Batu Kawah service center disclosed.

The 18 drainage projects were being putted in 3 categories: clearing of bushes in the drainage system, cleaning and deepen the drainage system, as well as widen it.

From the past, areas being inundated during heavy downpour are the common problem to BatuKawah’s residents and road users, which bring inconveniences to public. Therefore, with the feedback being received from the residents, Minister of Housing and Local Government Dato Sri DrSimKuiHian, who is BatuKawah assemblyman, has self- inspected the affected area with the relevant authorities to address the issues and concluded that drainage system’s serious blockage are one of the main factor causing area’s inundation.

All the 18 projects were submitted to DID and it has been approved to implement it in this year.

Batu Kawah’s 18 drainage cleaning and upgrading projects’ area list: Clearing and deepen the existing stream at Sungai Ngett, Sungai Janting, Sungai Paroh, Sungai Tradin, Sungai Muran, Sungai Durian, Ulu Sungai Moyan, Sungai Surih, Sungai Bimbin, Sungai Tuan, Sungai Segubang, Sungai Banan, drainage at Lorong 1 JalanSekobang, Sumiran Eco Camp RantauPanjang ,JalanShak Shan, JalanSejijak, Lorong 3 and SRK Sejijak’s earth drain.
