Tell your side of the story

SUPP Woman Chief, Tnay Li Ping hoped that whoever received any show cause letter should explain their side of story and not to react and make it into an issue.

She reasoned that the SUPP Disciplinary Committee is an independent body and they would only issue a show cause letter after careful deliberation over the evidence and complaint received.  “It is just like a school or even a kindergarten or a party or a country, we must have rules and regulations or else everyone would have their own agenda.”

Just recently SUPP Chairman, Dato’ Sri Wong Soon Koh, who is also the Minister of Local Government and Community Development, received a show cause letter.

Tnay said the show-cause letter is not a verdict. It is asking the receiver to tell their side of the story. “If the receiver think he is not wrong then reply to the show-cause instead of making any fuss,” she added saying that any receiver of show-cause has 14 days to reply.

She also hoped that the receiver would not do more damage to the party by lobbying for support.

SUPP Bau also came up with a statement asking for a Special Delegates conference to iron out the issue.

The statement said the branch had a meeting on October 25 and they urged everyone to come to a understanding instead of having conflicts all the time.

The Branch suggested that members of SUPP are very frustrated with the endless quarrels and hoped that the SDC would settle the matter once and for all.
