Wilfred Yap hopes for State government to help poor intelligent students
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap approached Chief Minister to help two poor students who were offered by Cambridge University, United Kingdom to study Engineering and English. ld University Ranking. Both students have promised and are committed after completion of their studies to return to Sarawak and contribute towards nation building.
Yap believes that it is imperative for Sarawak to develop and retain its best talent as it embarks on the important mission towards becoming a progressive and high income nation as envisioned by our YAB Datuk Patinggi Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari in his vision of a high income digital economy.
Sarawak should also prevent the outflow of its best talents to other countries as it would be impossible to achieve and sustain a digital economy without a highly skilled talent base.
He hoped that the Sarawak Government under the able leadership of Datuk Patinggi Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari would continue with granting schorlarships and giving financial assistance to qualified and deserving students.
This would assist in developing and retaining the much needed world class talent found locally in Sarawak and in tackling the current constraints in Sarawak’s human capital development. The focus and emphasis on quality human capital development would also contribute towards increasing the ability of Sarawak to attract high technology industries which is fundamental towards the success of any digital economy.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau will continue to highlight and try to resolve issues of public interest affecting the community and is always ready to lend a helping hand to the anyone facing problems or who come across problems of public interest but does not know how to deal with it.
