Assistance for poorer pupils
Batu Lintang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang gave away 34 school items to the pupils from poorer income group at Sekolah Haji Baki.
Lo said the Haji Baki Parent-Teacher Association with the Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Pendidikan Pelajar Miskin Sarawak have taken the right step to help such pupils to lighten the burden of their parents.
He alsp donated RM3,000 to PTA for their future activities which he said they will put to good use.
As the school building is in a bad shape, Lo hoped that the Education department will look into construction of new buildings for the pupils.
