Family unity is important, says Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian

Local Minister and Housing, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian who officiated the Christmas and Winter Solstice Christmas celebration at Vivacity Megamall urged the youngster to stay engaged and connected with family and friends instead of staring at their technology gadgets daily.

Dr. Sim said to prevent eroding of family values and friendships, youngsters should spend more time with parents, and not just left them at home or send them to old folks home. Treasure the moment, do not wait until it is too late and then you will regret, he added.

Healthy, added, Dr. Sim is also important and everyone should do more exercise in order to prevent heart diseases and avoid obesity. Malaysian, he pointed out that, was marked as the fattest in South East Asia (SEA), our diet and life style is the main reason. Hence, taking care of life and eating habits, do more exercise, and maintain a healthy body and mind is the major task for Malaysian.

The event was organised by SUPP Pending Women and Youth to encourage people from different race to participate, to build a united and harmonious society, and also to share the joy with people of all religion.

At the event, the public besides playing games and win prizes, also learnt to make snowman out of socks, practice Chinese Calligraphy and taste the rice ball prepared by organizer. Children had fun time with Santa Claus and performance by clown.
