Residents in Stampin Resettlement scheme have been complaining about the poor drainage condition which are blocking and impeding the flow of water causing stagnant pond of water and flash flooding everytime it rains. As such, the residents had requested for clearing and improvement works to be carried out on the earth drains to prevent ponding and flash flooding in view of the rainy season.
Following the request for assistance received, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief Wilfred Yap together with other SUPP members had gone to inspect and assess the situation and also to see what can be done to quickly resolve the problem.
Yap said effort has been made to bring the matter of the poor condition of the earth drains at Stampin Resettlement Scheme to the attention of the relevant state authorities and hopes that the request by the residents will be solved gradually and systematically by the relevant authorities.
He requested Stampin Member of Parliament, Kota Sentosa State Assemblyman and Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs YB Chong Chieng Jen will assist the residents of RPR Stampin Resettlement Scheme to solve the problems of the poor drainage situation by highlighting the issue in the Federal Cabinet and applying and securing development funds from the Federal Government to resolve the matter for the long term.
