Cooperation from public to care for the environment
Local Government Minister, Datuk Dr Sim’s team discovered that, at some places the public are using the drains for their rubbish disposal.
They were dismayed that such an unhygenic and callous action could take place with no regards to dirty and clogged drains which can cause flash flood.
To solve the flash flood issue, an effective drainage system is important, but the act of littering will only affect the flow of the drain, thus worsening the problem.
A spokesman from the team said Batu Kawa Service Centre will continue to fight for more drainage in Batu Kawah, but they also need the cooperation of the public to love and care the environment, to maintain a healthy drainage system by stopping the act of littering.
He added that the public should be hygiene conscious, and bring forward a better and clean environment to Batu Kawah.
