Datuk Sebastian: can PH fulfil its election manifesto promises?
Piasau state assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting is very disappointed with YB Chong with his announcement as what he said is nothing new, still twisting on what was contained in their PH PRU14 manifesto.
Sarawakian would like to know whether YB Chong has the authority to announce as he did. Most Sarawakians do not believe him and that they do not think that he has such an authority to make the announcement. For the avoidance of doubt and clarity, they asked him to show proof of such authority, if he has.
PH leaders in Sarawak are trying their best to convince the public, especially the voters that promises as contained in manifesto is for an offer to Sarawak Government instead of the People, especially to the voters. This, they know that they have disappointed the people miserably.
Datuk Sebastian stressed that in any election, Election manifesto is very important. The promises contained therein will guide the public, the people or specifically for the voters to help the voters to decide whom they would like to vote to be the Government of the day. To them, manifesto is not for the Sarawak Government but for them to make careful and considered decision.
For the ordinary voters, they would think and believe that the promises as contained in the Manifesto would be fulfilled before the next election. Longer time may be required in some cases, depending on the magnitude and impact of the promises. This is understandable.
Ting concluded that PH leaders in Sarawak should not continue to hoodwink the people of Sarawak. Their PH manifesto is very clear. One of the promises is 20% royalty on revenue and not 20% on profit to be given to the people of Sarawak, through the Government of Sarawak.
During the last election, PH promised Heaven and Earth and now PH as the New Government are finding it extremely challenging to fulfill these promises and are indeed trying to come up with all sorts of excuses of not fulfilling these promises.
