Dr Sim: non performing contractor will be terminated

Sarawak Local government and Housing Minister, Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian warned that he will terminate contract with the contractor for drainage upgrading system project at Jalan Batu Kawa Lorong 3 if the contractor does not commence the project within this week.

He lamented that the contractor has been given many opportunity to complete the project, yet still unable to meet the government’s requirement.

The project of upgrading the earth drain to concrete drain is under DID department. It was approved on 2017 October and expected to be completed 2018 March.

However, the contractor failed to deliver. DID department had issued a Certificate of Non Compliance and warning letter on April and June 2018 respectively.

Dr Sim reflected his unhappiness when he found out about the delay during a site visit and warned the contractor face to face.

Sim stressed that, the contract will be terminated if the work cannot be completed as soon as possible and in compliance with government’s requirement.
