Photography, selfie and wefie competition for DUN 150th anniversary
Organising chairman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said Sarawak government is holding a photography, selfie and wefie competition in conjunction with the State Legislative Assembly’s (DUN) 150th anniversary celebration from Aug 1 to 31 this year.
It is open to all and those with DSLR or ‘point and shoot’ cameras who can join either the Open Category, Secondary School Category (aged 13-17), or College/University/Higher Learning Institutes Category, while those using mobile phones can join the selfie or wefie open categories.
Harden added that photography competition is open to Malaysian citizens and tourists as they want to promote State Legislative Assembly Complex. Photos must have the Dun building.
The entry photos to be submitted must be in hard copy, 8×12 inches in size, and to be accompanied by a digital copy also 8×12 inches in size. The forms for the competition can be downloaded at @www.dun.sarawak.gov.my or obtained from Nonakraf Communication Sdn Bhd, No 59, Taman Heng Guan shoplot at Jalan Matang in Kuching.
The last day for entry submission is 12pm on Aug 31.
For camera photography, the Open Category winner will receive a cash prize of RM5,000, while the College/University/Higher Learning Institutes Category winner will get RM3,000. The winner of the Secondary School Category will get RM1,000.
For mobile phone users, the winners of the Selfie and Wefie categories will each receive RM3,000.
All winners will also receive trophies. Each category will also have cash prizes and trophies for the first and second runners up as well as consolation winners,” said Harden.
Entries are to be submitted by post to the either the State Legislative Assembly Office or Nonakraf Communication Sdn Bhd.
The competition was launched yesterday by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
