Celebrating Raya Gawai open house

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu PBB Batu Kawah branch chairman Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim and branch members held a Gawai-Raya open house at Kampung Sinar Budi Baru multi-purpose hall here recently. The occasion was joined by state assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang .

Among the guests present included Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, who is also Batu Kawah assemblyman and SUPP president, as well as Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang, who is also Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman.

About 500 guests comprising party members as well as Kampung Sinar Budi Baru residents joined in the merriment to celebrate the joyous occasion.

Ahmad, who is also MPP vice chairman, said the open house was held to invite people, particularly those from Batu Kawah constituency, irrespective of race and religion, to come together and celebrate Gawai Dayak and Hari Raya Aidilfitri in promoting unity and solidarity.

Various activities were held during the open house such as karaoke session, lucky draws and dance performance.
