Problem of speeding cars in Batu Kawa area

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau and SUPP Batu Kawa Service Centre have been receiving request for assistance from members of the public staying in the Batu Kawa area to solve the problem of speeding cars at certain sections of the Batu Kawa road specifically at the sharp bend of the roundabout at MJC Batu Kawa Commercial Centre and the stretch of road in front of a pre-mix concrete plant.

The residents requested for additional signage to warn the road users to slow down and the construction of traverse bars to slow traffic at this accident prone areas of Batu Kawa road.

The residents of Batu Kawa also complained of traffic congestion of Batu Kawa road during peak hours especially at the traffic light at T junction of Taman Desa Wira and requested for assistance to have the traffic lights along Batu Kawa road syncronised.

The residents are of the view that syncronization of all the traffic light would be able to regulate traffic flow and thereby easing traffic congestion there.

Following the request for assistance received, SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap together with the staff of SUPP Batu Kawa Service Centre and a Public Works Department Officer went to inspect and assess the situation.

The traffic congestion problem and the residents’ request for construction of  traverse bars and additional signage traffic lights to regulate the movements of motor vehicles will be looked into and acted upon the Public Works Department (JKR).
