State Assemblyman for Piasau, Dato’ Sebastian Ting went to visit the education department, Putra Jaya to pass a report by SK Sayed Othman to Khatun Ali, the private secretary to the Education Minister yesterday afternoon, on a request to consider an allocation to repair the school, which has not been received yet.
Five days ago, a Primary One pupil fell through the floor board in the 54 year old termites infested school. Nur Sheera Amyliana Iskandar sustained injuries to her left leg when a floorboard in her class gave way.
Ting who went to the school and held a discussion with the school management after learning of the incidence, said the Education Ministry has promised RM100,000 allocation to the school in 2012 but the allocation has not been forwarded to the school.
He also held a discussion with the Education department in Miri who had informed the Kuching Headquarters to do a report on it.
Ting said he will follow up the issue as children should be assured of security while persuing their education in schools.
