Dr Sim working visit to the Health Department

Local Government Minister, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian did a working visit to the Health Department yesterday morning.
He said he and the Federal government agency will be on watching brief on behalf of the Sarawak government.
“We had too many type 6 clinics which are too run down and we will therefore work with JKNS to fight for more funding and services from KL to help Sarawak,” he said.
Dr. Sim added that the SGH carpark and day care complexes (3 blocks) is waiting for the signature of the concession company.
On Sri Aman Hospital contract, which was signed in October last year, is scheduled for completion in Feb 2018. Currently 5% of work has been completed.
The Day care will take 30 months and the Car park 15 months to complete
Sibu has the higher rate of dengue and HIV and also has the highest number of doctors-to-population ration 1:500.
Dr Sim also added that there is no more post for doctors but still has vacancies for 15 senior dentists and 32 pharmacist post in Sarawak.
