砂拉越人民联合党中央秘书长兼卑尔骚区议员拿督陈超耀律师表示，砂拉越人民联合党对联邦教育部及砂拉越教育局向各校发出举办“巴勒斯坦团结周”的指示深感失望及强烈反对。 砂拉越人民联合党赞同砂拉越及沙巴17个非政府组织的声明，即坚决认为联邦政府不应该让教育机构卷入国际政治与冲突。 他强调，学校必须保持中立，唯有在中立情况下，学校才能持续为所有学生提供包容与和谐环境，让莘莘学子吸取知识及培养优良道德价值观。 在砂拉越，学校向来传授及培养良好价值观。老师们需不断灌输学生，砂拉越是多元种族及宗教的区域，并教导他们爱与关怀价值观。砂拉越有34个不同种族，长期和平与和谐共处，彼此尊重及包容。 种族和宗教在砂拉越从来都不是课题。 这就是学校及老师应该做的，教导和引导我们的学生，始终保持友好和爱好和平精神。若以这种国际仇恨，甚至杀戮来侵害学生无辜的心灵，绝对是错误的。 除此之外，许多家长纷纷反映强烈反对联邦教育部的这项指示，他们反对让年幼孩子接触种族主义、仇恨、暴力、死亡及战争。因此，我们强烈呼吁联邦教育部长及副部长，认真考量普遍人民的抗拒，立即指示教育部撤销指令。 陳超耀说，对于当前巴勒斯坦和以色列冲突，双方都遭受难以估量的损失，无数无辜人民成为这场冲突的受害者。作为国际社会一份子，我们有道德义务强烈要求以巴立即停火，停止任何敌对行动，此举对促进该地区数以千计流离失所者，供应食品、水及人道主义援助等基本物资至关重要。 砂拉越人民联合党谨此重申，教育自主权越早下放给砂拉越越好，因为我们必须将把最好的一切带给学生。
