The re-launching of palliative care ward at the Sarawak General Hospital on 4th December 2016 was to develop and advance much needed palliative care services in Kuching and Sarawak; forging strong collaboration between government agencies and NGOs in delivering care to our patients in the true Spirit of Sarawak- regardless of race, language, religion and political parties. 沈桂贤瞻仰已故刘贤威遗容
砂人联党主席兼砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤于今早瞻仰已故丹斯里刘贤威遗容。 随同者包括砂人联党中央秘书长兼卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀律师和助理部长兼史纳汀区州议员拿督李景胜。 刘贤威于本月7日凌晨在新加坡安祥辞世，享年69岁，噩耗传出，各界深表惋惜。
Paying last respect to Tan Sri Jimmy Lau
President of SUPP, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Secretary general of SUPP, Dato’ Sebastian Ting and SUPP leaders paid a last respect to Comrade Tan Sri Jimmy Lau together with SUPP leaders from Miri. Dr. Sim said the party has lost a comrade, as well as a great business and community leader. He extended his Deepest condolences to Puan Sri and the family.

Local Government Minister, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said training and preparation is the way forward due to the year end weather during which time low areas are prone to flood. He thanked the Sarawak Security Unit for co-ordinating the Police, Fire Department, Health, Welfare, Council, for getting this Petronas sponsor program held for first time in Batu Kawa.
Unilateral conversion of a child to be condemned
The Federal Constitution is the supreme law of this land. No state laws or state Islamic laws can contravene the provisions in the Federal Constitution. 地方议会受促做好防灾工作
砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤指示其部门属下的地方议会，必须清理地区上的沟渠，做好豪雨季节可能出现的水灾防范工作。 身兼石角区州议员的沈桂贤昨日在石角政府中学出席社区紧急反应队（CERT）课程时，这么表示。 他称，这项课程主要是教育民众关于水灾期间的应对工作，让他们懂得在灾区逃生或投入救援。 参与课程的单位包括砂安全单位、消拯局、民防局、社会福利局、海事执法机构、卫生局、砂拉越河流局和森林局等等。 另外，沈桂贤指出，古晋地区目前有3000人尚未获得水灾援助金，而石角居民有400人左右。 他表示，他已经将此事向首相署部长拿督斯里沙希旦反映，要求尽快处理水灾援助金发放。
人联党服务柜台助民众处理一马援助金事宜
砂人联党公共投诉局主任兼巴达旺市议员叶耀星，于人联党流动服务团队于今日在石角新市镇的汉利超市旁设立服务柜台，以帮助民众申请或更新一马援助金。 2017年度的一马援助金是从本月5日至31日开放申请，而过去的受惠者也必须更新其资料。 今日在石角新市镇的服务柜台时间是截至上午11时。 叶耀星强调，服务是人联党的主要议程，该党上下都会尽全力在基层为民服务。
恩林安宁疗护协会关于砂中央医院安宁疗护病房重新启用礼文告
恩林安宁疗护协会（Two Tree Lodge Hospice）吁请民主行动党党古晋国会议员张健仁，不要将日前由砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤主持的砂中央医院安宁疗护病房重新启用礼的课题政治化。 该会长林惠莉针对张健仁指责沈桂贤以重新启用安宁疗护病房博取宣传，通过文告这么表示。 她强调，本月4日重新启用的砂中央医院安宁疗护病房仪式，对所有医生、护士、志愿者及行政管理人员而言，是意义非凡及难忘的一天。 “重新启用安宁疗护病房，是为了进一步促进及发展砂拉越及古晋区所需的安宁疗护服务，以加强及建立政府机构与非政府组织的合作关系，真正体现砂拉越精神，为所有来自不同种族、语言、宗教及政党的病患提供疗护服务。” 她说，该病房只拥有8个床位，仍太小不足以满足单单在古晋区就有数以百计的需要疗护的病患的需求，但是这只是一个开始，我们为能成为一分子感到自豪。 林惠莉指出，邀请沈桂贤为设于中央医院的安宁疗病房主持重新启用仪式，旨在提高人们对安宁疗护的意识。尽管沈桂贤公务繁忙，但仍非常愿意及同意出席。 她说，令恩林安宁疗护协会成员感到震惊、失望、难以相信及难过的是，张健仁却在本月8日透过报章，质疑整个事件的真实性，并指责沈桂贤利用重新启用安宁疗护病房作为宣传。 “我们感到悲伤，一名国会议员竟然把此事政治化，这项指责不仅侮辱了我们的诚信，且磨灭我们致力在古晋及砂拉越促进安宁疗护服务的努力。” 另外，她表示，砂中央医院放射线治疗单位主任余根良在当天的开幕词中有提到，安宁疗护病房早在十多年前就已设立，当时由贝纳达威医生领导，贝纳达威医生可说是我国安宁疗护先驱，她透过砂拉越临终关怀协会将安宁疗护服务带到古晋及砂拉越。 对于贝纳达威医生在安宁疗护服务上的远见及卓越领导，恩林安宁疗护协会由衷表示感激。实际上，在贝纳达威医生的领导下，砂中央医院安宁疗护病房在2009年更荣获欧洲肿瘤内科学会（ESMO）颁发荣誉奖。这项认证长达3年，惟遗憾的是，由于许多不可预见的情况，导致后来没有被更新。 文告中提到，由于资源有限，特别是在培训医务人员、设备的缺乏、资金短缺等，导致安宁疗护病房在过去5年没有发挥原有的作用，简单来说，它仅保留了安宁疗护病房名称罢了。但近年来需要安宁疗护的病患却急速的增加，为安宁疗护需求及服务提供空间。 有鉴于砂拉越安宁疗护需求非常迫切，因此许多非政府组织在过去多年来一直努力提供这方面的服务，如古晋博爱协会提供了救护车服务，医疗器材如病床、氧气机、轮椅租赁、家庭护理服务等。其他如全国癌症协会属下的古晋安宁疗护协会及恩林安宁疗护协会也提供免费家庭临终关怀服务。 为了提供更好的服务确保患者及其家庭获得持续性的关怀，非政府组织家庭护理团队的志愿人士也从今年10月1日起，参与安宁疗护病房医护团体工作。 文告也表示，本月4日重新启用的安宁疗护病房，也显示了本地非政府组织支持砂拉越中央医院持续在古晋及砂拉越提供安宁疗护服务 “我们也意识到，要在我们的社区提供良好的安宁疗护服务不能单靠政府机构的努力，每个人都应发挥其作用，扩大服务范围使到有需要者能尽速及更容易获得服务。” 恩林安宁疗护协会也感谢沈桂贤、砂中央医院院长钱仁兴医生及余根良医生的领导，支持卫生部与非政府组织之间的合作以发展及扩大古晋及砂拉越区的安宁疗护服务。

砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤于本月9日到砂拉越能源公司南区办公室进行工作访问。 他对于砂拉越能源有限公司推出手机应用程序“SEB Cares”表示赞许，并给予推崇，以让大众享有更大便利。 他是在首长政治秘书陈开及符祥威等人陪同下，前往进行工作访问，了解该公司运作流程情形，包括同意协助推介使用该公司的手机应用程序。 砂能源公司的手机应用程序，让客户有更多选择和享有更大方便。无论身在何处何时，只需在手机上弹指操动之间，就能联系到砂能源。 客户可轻易获取的服务项目包括管理和监督电费单、查看电费、电表状况，以及电力相关问题和投报等等。同时，也能将发生电供故障问题例如街灯失灵的地点传送，对于砂能源的服务发表看法。 透过手机应用程序，客户也能接收到发生停电事故的确实时间和恢复电供情况，并且跟进到砂能源发布最新消息资讯等。
Getting help from the Salvation Army
Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang paid a visit to Fo Cho Fah and her children recently. Fo who is a widow is not able to take care of her five children and currently residing at Mile 10, Penrissen. Two of her youngest children will be send to the Salvation Army . With SEB Cares, customers can contact Sesco anytime to manage and monitor electricity bills, check on billing, meter issues or related cases. Customer can report feedback and on SESCO’s services and facilities such as street lights problem. It can also receive time alerts on power outage and planned shutdown besides news and update on Sarawak SESCO.
