President of SUPP Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian New Year message
President of Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian urged all Malaysian to say ‘no’ to extremism to protect Malaysia as a peaceful multi racial harmony country.
Dr. Sim said since independence day, Malaysia with its multi-racial and multi religion have all been living in harmony and peace. “We all live together with respect and tolerance towards each other. This sort of spirit and good attitude is a must for a country to move forward,” he said.
Sarawak, he said, is a good example to other states in Malaysia on harmony and the Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem is well-known to be a moderate leader.
“We should take pride in this and our Chief Minister has also fearlessly go against illegal logging and disallow extremist personnel to come to our shore. We should all stand behind him in this,” he said.
Dr. Sim also urged Malaysians not to let the terrorists, ISIS to taint the country. He said SUPP fully support the government who goes against the sympathisers of ISIS.
Asking all Chinese to have open house to enjoy the festivals with other races, he said this is a good opportunity to foster better relationship and understanding with non Chinese.
He said all are welcome to the SUPP Open House on the first day of the Chinese new year from 9.30 am to 12 noon.
