SUPP KOTA SENTOSA BRANCH PRESS RELEASE

SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch feels it is their responsibility to warn the people of Sarawak to learn from the ongoing indecisive leadership crisis in the Pakatan Rakyat. The fact that the leaders of Pakatan Rakyat habitually need to “agree to disagree” raises the question on whether they are a viable coalition or merely a loose partnership with each having and pursuing its own agenda.

It is a fact that Local Government elections were agreed upon by DAP, PAS and PKR in 2013 in its common policy framework and there was no mention of Hudud law implementation in Kelantan in the same common policy framework. With PAS and DAP leaders recently trading barbs over their plans to implement Hudud in Kelantan and introduce Local Council elections in Penang, it clearly shows that Pakatan Rakyat is not sincere with fulfilling the promises made during the last General Elections. This is a betrayal to the people who voted Pakatan Rakyat as the people (especially those in the urban areas) were attracted and convinced by Pakatan Rakyat’s propaganda that they will bring in an era of new politics with fresh faces, more rakyat friendly, less political infighting, less corruption, more transparency and accountability.

SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch Secretary, Wilfred Yap points out that despite the huge support of the rakyat attending Pakatan Rakyat rallies, listening to their emotional speeches, trusting their manifestos and blindly believing during the last General Elections that finally a group of decent, God fearing and honest leaders had emerged, the rakyat are now bombarded with shocking events unfolding each day.

It appears that Pakatan Rakyat, especially the DAP, does not even understand the content of their own speeches and elaborate propaganda manifestos. The sad part is that all they think about is their own positions and political survival and they exploited to the fullest racial and religious parochialism. In short, the rakyat’s hopes and aspirations for a better future are shattered.

SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch Secretary Wilfred Yap is of the view that the so called virtues advocated by Pakatan Rakyat particularly DAP through their “UBAH” or “Change” slogans have all been discarded into the river as the events over the last six months have shown clearly that Pakatan Rakyat (especially DAP and PAS) politics is really more about the desire for power and of winning for self-benefits at all costs.

SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch therefore urges the people of Sarawak not to allow the opposition Pakatan Rakyat, especially DAP Sarawak to destroy the harmony and stability that Sarawakians currently enjoy as it is very clear that only a Barisan Nasional Government can guarantee stability and protect our current way of life that is based on moral values and ethics. The success of the various development and transformation program in Sarawak is proof that only Barisan Nasional under the leadership of our current Chief Minister YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem can deliver a brighter future for all Sarawakians regardless of race and religion.
