Over RM2.1 billion allocation of contracts and business opportunities from PETRONAS for Sarawak
Secretary General of SUPP, Dato Sebastian Ting, praises the Sarawak Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem’s effort in driving a progressive course of action to resolve the Petroleum Royalty issue with the Federal Government and PETRONAS.
He commented that the resolving of this issue has been long awaited for by many in Sarawak. This matter, according to him, has been long perceived by many Sarawakians as a sensitive and untouchable or protected issue in the Oil and Gas industry of Malaysia.
Dato Sebastian Ting has also applauded the Chief Minister’s progressive approach in achieving an agreement from PETRONAS to allocate RM2.1 billion worth of contracts and business opportunities for Sarawakians which will be increased each year.
Out of the five keystone areas of cooperation according to the Chief Minister’s structural resolution, such agreement from PETRONAS will certainly bring benefits and prosperity to both the people of Sarawak and the state itself economically, by growing and nurturing the human capital of the industry, because these are the kind of opportunities and training grounds needed for the Sarawak people and the Oil and Gas industry businesses to excel economically and competently towards the competitive global market.
He added that the Chief Minister of Sarawak has done an impressive job in not just helping the people of Sarawak to fight and resolve the matter over the petroleum royalty issue, but he has also amplified optimism and confidence for the people of Sarawak towards a prosperous future, and this is the kind of leadership people, especially young people, will always look up to and be grateful for.
