Putting an end to rabies in Miri
Miri city is all geared up against rabies as it continued with free mass rabies vaccination programme held during the weekend. A total of 866 dogs being vaccinated in the two-day campaign by Veterinary Services Department on Saturday and Sunday at three locations, Taman Awam Miri, Lutong Basketball Court and Taman Bulatan in Pujut, from 9am to 4pm. 美里市政局严厉谴责在脸书散播市政局捕狗队射击住家内狗的谣言。 该局发表文告指出，从本月13日起，有网民在脸书散播1张捕狗队射击狗的照片，指那只狗当时在住家范围内。其实从照片可明显看出，当时那只狗是在住家范围外面，因此该说法具有诽谤。 美里市政局强调，按照逻辑，若捕狗队射击住家范围内的狗，该如何把狗领出来？更何况，如果那是民众饲养的狗，为何至今没有狗主挺身而出，向美里市政局投诉捕狗队行为？ 截至目前为止，美里市政局根本没接获来自任何人的相关投诉。 为了应对狂犬病疫情，美里市政局不得不加强捕捉野狗行动，以遏止狂犬病蔓延。在这行动中，希望美里市民能给予全力配合，避免有人类感染狂犬病。 美里市政局永远以民众利益为优先，希望民众能全力支持。
Giving a helping hand to the needy

Miri City Council (MCC) Mayor, Adam Yii condemned the initiator of the Face book message falsely accusing the MCC Dog Catching Teams of shooting dogs within the house compound and subsequent viral of this false and slanderous message in the last two days. SUPP leaders joining in the celebration of Sarawak Governor’s 82 birthday
SUPP President, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian and Secretary general, Datuk Sebastian Ting with party comrades joined a grand banquet held in Sibu Saturday night in celebration of the 82nd birthday of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud. Traditional dance and a cut ceremony by the Governor was part of the dinner. Attending the dinner were Sarawak Ministers and former ministers. Early that morning, there was a parade held in honour of the Governor.
