沈桂贤：将与首长会晤反映党立场
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员表示，针对巴旺阿山及都东派出国阵直属候选人上阵课题，党领袖将与首席部长兼州国阵主席拿督巴丁宜丹斯里阿迪南沙登会面，反映党立场。 他说，他也将与人民党党魁丹斯里詹玛欣及民进党主席拿督斯里张庆信太平局绅会晤，讨论此事。 他强调，国阵直属候选人的课题必须带进国阵最高理事会内讨论，因为这个方案对国阵影响甚广。在过去50年来，国阵的稳定基础在于成员党互相合作精神，在政治内，每个政党都会有起落，比如1987年，人联党挺身协助土保党那样。确保国阵团结、捍卫国阵原则、彼此尊重及透过权力共享以维持民主精神非常重要。 人联党理解在任何选举上，胜出是非常重要，赢取人民的支持与信任。不过，人民不仅是关注国阵的政策，候选人或过去的服务记录，而是原则，公平与真诚。在这方面，聆听人民的心声非常重要，因为他们才是最后的裁判。 沈桂贤呼吁人联党党员与支持者保持冷静，继续专注在基层服务人民，因为人民的利益必须获得优先考量。
Senator Datuk Dr.Sim – standing either in Batu kawa or Batu Kitang.
Sarawak United Peoples Party president, Senator Datuk Dr.Sim Kui Hian, confirmed that he will be standing as a candidate either in Batu kawa or Batu Kitang. Dr.Sim has named three candidates – himself, Padawan Municipal council Lo khere Chiang and Batu kawa chairman, Tan Joo Phoi as potential candidates. He confirmed that he will stand either of the two constitution. Tan lost to DAP Christina Chiew in the last State election. Batu Kitang is a new seat.
人联青年团拒绝直属候选人方案
砂人联党青年团总团长陈开市议员表示，该团坚决反对在诗巫巴旺阿山及都东派上国阵直属候选人出战。 他强调，青年团在这方面的立场是毫无妥协的，上述两个选区应该由属于国阵成员党的人联党出战。 他说，在积极推动乡区发展之际，政府不应忽略社会发展，比如社会福利、道德、精神文化及社会公义。如果使用国阵直属候选人的方案，就会破坏政治的原则精神，及对首长拿督巴丁宜丹斯里阿德南沙登的利好政策效应带来影响。 “在国阵大家庭里，彼此尊重及互不干涉内部的原则应该继续受到维护，若使用直属候选人方案，肯定会摧毁这个精神原则。” 陈开说，人联党于1970年与土保党一起组织联合政府，并在此后一直协助落实砂州的发展。在1987年爆发的明阁事件，人联党仗义挺身而出，支持土保党。而这一次，人联党希望首长能够捍卫政治原则精神，维护政治道德、让砂州人民可以看到社会公义的存在。 他表示，人联党从2015年年中就开始积极准备选举，并且有信心赢回失去的议席。不过，若候选人最终并非来自人联党，势必会影响人联党的士气。
沈桂贤证实出战州选
砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤上议员证实，他将会在来临州选出战，选区是石角或巴都吉当，两者选一。 他之前已经宣布他本身，连同哥打圣淘沙支部主席罗克强及石角支部主席陈如飞为石角及巴都吉当的潜能候选人。 在上届州选，人联党在石角选区中，候选人陈如飞败给行动党周宛诗。而巴都吉当则是属于新议席。

Senate Grant to 59 Groups of Association
SUPP President, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian donated senate grant to 59 groups of association at the SUPP headquarters yesterday. He urged recipients to use the money generously for their Association’s benefit. Dr. Sim also urged recipients to give their support to the SUPP so that they could service them more. He said each BN representatives could get RM4 million for their constituency and with the money, they could be able to build more projects.
