Supp headquarters in Sibu
Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) claim to be the legal and beneficial owner of the three units of 4 storey shophouse at Jalan Kpg Datu in Sibu has been once again confirmed by the High court in Sibu yesterday morning.
In a press conference at the SUPP headquarters today, Dato’ Sebastian Ting and Robert Lau Hui Yew, he said the Sibu High Court yesterday has dismissed the application by the purported directors of Twinswood Sdn Bhd to set aside the judgement obtained by SUPP on August 25 2015.
On August 25th last year in Sibu High Court they gave judgement to SUPP that effectively say SUPP is the legal and beneficial owner of the three units of shop houses at Jalan Kpg Datu.
Ting said the building has been occupied by Sibu SUPP as their office since it was acquired in 1989. The acquisition was made possible by the donation and fundraising from its members and the public.
Tan Sri Wong Soon Kai first mooted the idea of having its own office and led the donation drive. Wong has always said the building belonged to party and was delighted when told the news.
According to Wong, it has always been the understanding and intention amongst the shareholders of Twinswood and each of them that the building were purchased by SUPP through Twinswood.
Wong had urged all SUPP members in Sibu to support the new leadership in Sibu and urged them all to remain loyal to the party. He said we must not forget what the party has done for us and we must continue to serve the people with sincerity and honesty.
