CM visiting his former high school, SMK St Joseph
Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Haji Adenan Satem made a visit to his former high school, SMK St Joseph after launching the new block of SJK Chung Hua yesterday after he was notified by the passing of the school’s former principal, Brother Columba who served the school from 1964 as a teacher and later promoted as principal in 1974 to 1988.
Adenan signed the condolence book and made a donation of RM2, 000.
In a statement published from his Facebook page, Adenan extended his deepest condolence to the family members of Brother Columba and also to the De La Salle brothers.
He expressed his sadness to learn of the demise of a great teacher and mentor who left a legacy of teaching, learning and character building to students of the school. He was glad to take the opportunity to go back to the school.
Earlier on, Datuk Senator Dr. Sim Kui Hian and State Legal Counsel, Datuk JC Fong and SMK St Joseph, Thomas Lau was also at the school with Adenan.
Brother Columba, born James Gleeson passed away last Wednesday and will be buried in Ireland on Friday.
