SUPP woman chief, Kho Teck Wan supports Health Ministry’s cashless payment

SUPP Central Women Section Chairman Cr Kho Teck Wan supports the Health Ministry’s decision to implement cashless payment at government healthcare facilities.

That being said, she is in the opinion that huge efforts on training the facility staffs to assist customers during cashless payment need to be in placed prior to the rollout of such effort.

“In rural Sarawak, such effort will required the healthcare facility to be equipped with stable internet connection and sufficient staffs to assist the customers. Since majority of the patients at hospital and clinics are elderlies, extra manpowers and technical staffs are needed to assist them in transitioning to e-payment method, as senior citizens are the group who are less likely to use digital payment on daily basis’, she said.

She added that currently the Ministry of Health is engaging ‘DuitNow’ and ‘TPOS’ for digital payment.

She urged the Health Ministry to collaborate with SPay Global as it is one of the mostly used mobile payment application in Sarawak.
