Lo Khere Chiang checks out flood victims in Batu Kitang
Heavy downpour since last night has forced five families to evacuate in Batu Kitang Jaya area to the Dewan there but during the morning, they returned home after the flood subsided.
Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang who is also Padawan Municipal council Chairman who went to visit the constituency since 10 am said it was sad that flooding is so rampant in the area. He said coupled with covid 19 pandemic, it is a challenge for the residents who are forced to leave their homes.
Lo said the authorities are providing all they can to help the affected families and urged them to stay put in their homes if they can.
He said it is better that way to minimise the risk of close contact in the evacuation centre.
Urging those who had no choice, he said it is not easy but they must practice social distancing and the SOP.
Places he visited were Batu Kitang Jaya, Batu Kitang Lama, Kampung Bumbok, Arang Road, Taman Malihah and Desa Wira.
Lo said they will continue to monitor the situation.
