More development for Batu Kawah
Local government and Housing Minister, Dato’ Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian thanked Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for gracing the ground breaking of “Sports/Community Hall with Innovation Hub” at Batu Kawah recently.
He said the project will significantly transformed the abandoned Ang Cheng Ho quarry, into a public recreational park, a multipurpose hall that can house 1,000 people and an innovation hub for young entrepreneurs.
Dr. Sim called it a historical milestone with this phase 1 project which mark the beginning of transformation of the abundant old Ang Ch’eng Ho quarry (20 acres of water) into eventually a public recreational park with water sports, extreme sports.
Other additional features for Batu Kawah included package E of Kuching City ring road – 9.5km Stephen Yong/Batu Kawa junction to Kopodium junction (FAC Road), Matang, phase 2 of ART from Kuching, Batu Kawa, Bau and Lundu and affordable housing for Batu Kawah.
In Batu Kawah, said Dr. Sim, many races stayed together in harmony as truly the style of a harmonious Sarawak.
