“Football Carnival a way to draw youngsters from undesirable drugs activities.”

State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang praised Premier Skills Football Carnival for organising a football carnival to draw youngsters away from undesirable drugs activities.

Speaking at the game yesterday at SK Sacred Heart mini football fiel , Lo said football carnival is a good way to teach kids of all ages on how to work in teams, make decisions, and get organised! It’s a fun way to build teamwork, play the sport, engage discipline, work creativity, nurture friendship and create bonding within the community.

“This carnival not only brings the  community together, it allows the children in the kampung a sense of togetherness. And with Anti Drugs Messages supporting each Carnival by the AADK, it’s believed that we can create a strong awareness each place we go”, he added.

Lo urged for more NGO, government agencies ,private sectors and volunteers to work together on drug awareness campaign. It is our society’s responsibility to keep this going.

“Successful awareness starts from home. We have to start talking with our children about all sorts of things, including drugs, when they’re very young. We need to give them clear and consistent messages about what’s not good for them. Children need rules and limits. You are your children’s most important teacher. Your words and actions help shape their ideas on the harmfulness of drugs, he pointed out.
