SUPP setting up a ‘Safeguard Sarawak Task force”
In their continuing fight for Sarawak autonomy, SUPP has set up a ‘Safeguard Sarawak Task force” mainly aimed to assist the Chief Minister in the issue.
President Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian said the task force historian team would be headed by Datuk Lee Kim Shin and it was a plus point for them as some of the original records and documents are still in the SUPP library.
In a press conference, Dr. Sim pointed out that they would not only have a research team but they would be getting documents from Britain to allow them to know their rights and what they had signed in the original agreements prior to the formation of Malaysia.
He said he has met up with the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who gave the assurance that he would be fair to Sarawak.
The whole process would be studied in detail and to get back the autonomy rights.
