Ground breaking ceremony of SJKC Stampin
Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Local Government Minister recently attended the ground breaking ceremony of SJKC Stampin relocation by the Minister of Education Malaysia Datuk Sri Mahdzir. Chinese Schools in Urban area in Sarawak tends to be over crowded as it caters for all races and religions. Sarawakian preferably choose the Chinese Schools as parents would like their children to master languages in Chinese, English and Bahasa. Dr Sim believes that by sharing the success of these schools, it provides unity rather than causing disunity.
Anjung Kasih – Free temporary housing, facilities for patient’s relatives

砂人联党主席兼砂地方政府部长拿督沈桂贤强调，砂拉越的华校并不只是华人的专属学府，而是包括土著。 “华教在砂拉越非常受欢迎，而在州政府注重英语教育，将英语列为第二官方语言的情况下，未来的年轻一代可说是中英语能力兼具，这可谓是一种优势。” 沈桂贤是于实旦宾国民型华文小学新校舍动土礼上致词时，这么表示。 另一方面，在沈桂贤积极争取下，巴哥中公的迁校计划已经获得联邦教育部长拿督斯里马哈基尔的原则上批准。 无论如何，沈桂贤还是希望教育部尽快发出书面批准信，以便相关的工作，包括申请地方议会的批准等可以展开。 他说，尽管马哈基尔已经原则上批准巴哥中公的迁校计划，但由于需要展开一系列的申请工作，包括向地方议会、州策划单位等提出申请，因此必须得到教育部的书面批准信函。他希望，该迁校计划可以尽快落实。 “砂人联党此前帮助古晋中华小学第二校和第六校的建校，因此希望巴哥中公的迁校可以顺利进行。” 沈桂贤表示，巴哥中公是计划从现址巴哥，搬迁至三马拉汉。 他指出，由于城市地区的华小已经越来越拥挤，因此让巴哥中公进行迁校，将可舒缓该问题。 据悉，巴哥中公早前因面的学生来源问题而陷入停办。
沈桂贤争取民都鲁医院设立爱心宿舍
砂拉越地方部长拿督沈桂贤表示，他接下来将向联邦妇女、家庭与社会发展部部长拿督斯里罗哈尼提议，希望在民都鲁医院也设立一所关爱宿舍。 他表示，目前砂拉越共有3所关爱宿舍，设立在古晋的中央医院，以及诗巫和美里医院。 他称，这些关爱宿舍的设立，并非是相关部长是来自砂拉越，因此对本地特别“关照”，而是因为砂州地理环境因素，病人家属到医院探病往往需要在外留宿所致。 “不像西马，当地道路设施系统良好，方便往来住家和医院之间。” 沈桂贤说，早在2011年时，他就发现有病人的家属，因没地方下榻，所以晚上睡在医院地板上，这让他感触颇深。 因此，他希望政府关爱宿舍的设立，可以解决这项问题。 沈桂贤是于日前出席砂拉越中央医院的关爱宿舍开幕礼后受访时，这么表示。 他指出，位于三马拉汉的心脏专科中心也有一所关爱宿舍，而与一般政府医院不同的是，当地的关爱宿舍是由砂拉越心脏基金会出资兴建，运作至今已经有一年。
