砂地方政府部部长拿督沈桂贤强调中医的重要性，并认为有必要从法律角度着手，让中医更有系统性发展。 他说，中医界不应该被一两个害群之马影响其发展，因为这历史悠久的医疗手法，已经被证明其能力。 他表示，尽管本身是西医，但有时候也会寻求中医治疗。 沈桂贤是于今日出席肯雅兰园民众联谊会义诊活动时，发表致词。 这项于肯雅兰园康乐中心举行的义诊，共获得15名中医师参与。 沈桂贤赞扬肯雅兰园民众联谊会在会长本固鲁陈兴枝的领导，积极为地区上居民带来福利，而他希望会有越来越多年轻人参与义诊活动，因为保护健康需要从年轻做起。
Protecting traditional medicine practitioners
Minister of Local Government, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, called for the protection of traditional medicine practitioners from any fraud practitioners as Chinese medicines has been used for a long time in Sarawak.
