Tree Planting Program By MPP

Tan Kai expressed his honour in welcoming participants to the Tree Planting Program organised by the Padawan Municipal Council in collaboration with Persatuan Masyarakat Kawasan Jalan Arang and the Padawan Child Council.

Extending his appreciation to councillors, community members, participants, and the young leaders from the Child Council who attended the event, he said the programme reflected the council’s ongoing commitment to creating a greener, healthier, and more liveable environment.

According to him, tree planting is not just an activity but an investment in the future, as trees help improve air quality, reduce heat, enhance biodiversity, and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the neighbourhood. He added that the trees planted today would benefit the coming generations.

Tan Kai noted that the involvement of the Child Council made the event even more meaningful. He was pleased to see parents spending quality time with their children and said their participation demonstrated the community’s dedication to instilling environmental awareness among the younger generation. By giving children an active role, he said they were helping shape future leaders who understand sustainability and community responsibility.

He also thanked the residents of Taman Wawasan and Persatuan Masyarakat Kawasan Jalan Arang for their cooperation and strong support. He stressed that community involvement was vital to the success of environmental initiatives and encouraged residents to continue caring for the trees and supporting the council’s green efforts.

To the Child Councillors, he hoped the programme would help them appreciate the importance of trees and understand their role as young leaders. He expressed hope that the experience would inspire them to love and protect nature and guide others to do the same.

He conveyed his gratitude to all partners, the organising committee, and volunteers, acknowledging their contributions and hard work in making the programme a success.
