Kuching Intercultural Mooncake Festival 2018
Minister for Local Government and Housing congratulated the organizers of the Kuching Intercultural Mooncake Festival 2018 for bringing together all the races in Kuching to participate and celebrate the Autumn festival in the spirit of unity.
I was invited last year and thoroughly enjoyed my visit so when the organizers invited me this year naturally I said yes . This year I am representing YAB Chief Minister to grace this much talk about event and it is nice to see that all the planning has manifested into a colourful event with a great family atmosphere and plenty for the visitors to experience be it food, music and cultural performances. This is something we must continue and I congratulate the organizing committee for their tireless work and dedication.
Dr Sim is aware that the unity amongst races is something that is fragile and can easily be disrupted or severed. He added that it is fortunate that the unity that we have in Sarawak is real and natural. However we must not take it for granted. We as responsible citizens should all play our part and work towards a greater unity and understanding amongst races.
Events such as this will help maintain and remind us all of the importance of unity through diversity.
