More collected for young cochlear implant candidate
A young cochlear implant candidate, Noor Batrisyia Ramlan received financial aid from the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in an effort first initiated by Piasau State Assemblyman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting.
Ting said the fund for the implant has now amounted to RM117,000, making it possible for the procedure to be carried out according to the availibity of the doctor.
He said before this, he had collected donation from the public, including from family members, relatives and corporate bodies amounting to RM67,000.
Ting, who is also president of the Sarawak Cochlear Implant Society (SCIS), thanked Zahid and all those who had contributed to the fund for two-year-old Noor Batrisyia’s cochlear implant.
Noor Batrisyia’s father Ramlan, 24, thanked Ting for starting the fundraising drive.
