SUPP Youth Central Statement

SUPP Youth looks forward to working closely with Datuk Amar Dato’ Sri Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Johari as the sixth Chief Minister of Sarawak in taking Sarawak to greater heights.

In this connection, SUPP Youth Chief Tan Kai highlights the expectations of Sarawakians from their new CM:

• That Sarawak BN continue to champion the return of Sarawakian rights and autonomy as agreed in the Malaysia Agreement 1963: to ensure the ongoing devolution process between Sarawak Government and Federal Government are seen through to fruition,

•That Sarawak BN continue to be the role model of governing in Malaysia by ensuring equitable power sharing among the 3 major ethnic groups, namely Dayak, Melayu and Chinese.  The Chinese community are looking forward to the reinstatement of a Chinese DCM pursuant to prior longstanding Sarawak BN practice and inter-party agreement,

• That Sarawak continues to be a role model in its moderate policies taking into account our multi-ethic, multi-faith society who have flourished harmoniously for decades, and

•That continued improvement of education and creation of business opportunities for the younger generation be a priority in Sarawak’s development agenda.

With our Chief Minister’s long-standing experience and care for Sarawakians, we are confident that our new Chief Minister will continue with the vision and wisdom set by his predecessors to lead Sarawak to progress and prosperity.
